2017 NoCo Hemp Expo

By Patrick L. Myers

The 2017 NoCo Hemp Expo is set for Loveland, Colorado, from March 31 to April 1, 2017. The Expo will host industry experts, panelists and thought leaders from the hemp industry to present their ideas, as well as state and federal government representatives, who will discuss their viewpoints regarding hemp.

The Expo will host more than 130 exhibitors, vendors and suppliers. There will be live workshops, a hemp-based fashion show and great entertainment. The Expo will have the largest selection of hemp products or services under one roof, and one day is set aside specifically for buyers and sellers.

This expo features a mainstage that has been dubbed the “Let’s Talk” stage, and is sponsored by The Hemp Road Trip—which hosts presenters who explore ideas centered around hemp. Among those scheduled to present are well-known travel author Doug Fine, leading cannabis attorney Bob Hoban, and Shaun Crew, the founder of hemp oil producer, Hemp Oil Canada.

Featured in the hosted Hemp Summit Room, sponsored by the Hemp Business Journal and Cannabis Business Professional Series, is a keynote presentation by former CIA Director James Woolsey. Woolsey’s presentation is intended to highlight key governmental issues that have weighed the industrial hemp movement down and what can be done for the industry to combat these roadblocks. Other topics addressed will be hemp vs. marijuana, industries colliding or merging, and other things of that nature.

There will be an Artist and Activist Tent—new to the NoCo—that will feature a variety of topics centering around organic foods, sustainability, alternative energy and similar ideas.

The workshop tent will feature real-time demonstrations of hemp building and insulation. Other crafts demonstrated will be hemp paper and food related to hemp, as well as a master coffee roaster giving a presentation on coffee roasting and infusion.

Ultimately, the focus will be on farming, harvesting, processing, innovations, and equipment.
