Low Key Grow Solutions Helping Control Cultivation Environments

Ben Moffett and Erik Charles of Low Key Grow Solutions, Inc. are new to the cannabis game and have been gathering momentum since last year. Moffett and Charles have generated a business that will complement the cannabis industry in ways that will help businesses to be more efficient for less cost.
“The idea for this business comes from my business partner Eric’s father. He works for a company that is an energy efficiency solutions company that deals in products such as insulation and window inserts; they don’t supply LED lighting as much; they’ll also do things like pest repellents, etc. My partner Eric has worked in and out of that industry, and has also been in the growing industry before. So after we met, he came to me and basically suggested that we run a business similar to the business that his father works in. So our idea was to supply these grow solutions to those that are in legal states,” said Moffett.
Moffett was born and raised in Hammond, Indiana, and studied business administration and entrepreneurship at Ball State University and Purdue University. Charles is also from Greenwood, and the two business partners met at Ball State University.
“After moving around he ended up back at Greenwood, and I met him at Ball State in 2009. After hitting it off we ended up rooming together and doing a radio show: the Anarchy Hour on Monday Night Metal. It was a great show and a great time,” said Moffett. The two more recently started tightening things down with their business, Low Key Grow Solutions in 2016 after they had the idea to do what Charles’ dad does, while applying it to cannabis.
Moffett reckons that keeping things out in the open with his business partner has made it easier to operate the business. “It’s been a lot of work and it’s hard to keep things organized with a partner but, at the same time, I wouldn’t have any idea what to do by myself. I try to keep everything completely out in the open with Erik because it’s been the easiest way to do things.”
Moffett describes his goals as helping other producers to become more efficient and reduce operating costs through a number of methods such as helping streamline the growing process. “There’s a lot of ways that people know how to grow and certain tricks to the trade.... If you [want to] become more efficient or if you care more about the environment, that’s what we’re here for. We’re trying to facilitate a platform for growers to grow efficiently and to save money while doing so,” said Moffett.
Low Key Grow Solutions, Inc. is more of a third party vendor that can be tailored to a business’s needs or an aggregate for growing products.
